passport acquisition

In order to go to Israel, I needed to get a passport. It has to be good for at least six months after our trip. My passport will be good for five years. Because I'm eleven, both of my parents had to come with me to the Passport Office at the Post Office to get my passport. My mom and I had to get our pictures taken and we had to show them our birth certificates. I'm paying Mama and Daddy back for my passport with my birthday money, a donation from someone who visited our church, and helping Daddy do garden work at a friend's house.

the flag of Israel history.

The flag of Israel has two blue stripes on a white background with a star or shied of David (in Hebrew it is Magen David) in the center. It was inspired by the tallit (the prayer shawl worn by Jews during prayer) as a symbol. The shield of David is a common symbol of the people of Israel from Biblical times. The shield of David made of two equilateral triangles, is located in the Middle of the flag.

My Israel Trip

I am hoping to make a trip to Israel with my Mom in February 2014.

I want to go to Israel because I think it will be fun. I am excited to see everything that I can there. I want to see as much of the world as I can, so this is a good start. I want to spend time with Mama away from our house. I think having ten days of one-on-one time with Mama will be great.

I will raise money for the trip by babysitting, selling gluten free confections through Haleygahoots (click on the haleygahoots tab under my logo or just click here), and having a tag sale.

Before going I want to learn where it is, what we'll see there, and when exactly we're going.

Check back every week for new blog posts!

hello from bluelacedaisy!

Hi, this is willow from bluelacedaisy.blogspot.com! I'm writing on fuzzy yellow horse for today. I would like to share a quick and fun idea for making jewelry. All you need is a box of paper clips and masking tape or washi tape.

First, make a chain of paper clips at least 15 paper clips long. Then, wrap each paper clip in masking tape. You can make as many chains a you want. When you are done, combine all of the chains together with a jump ring. You can add a clasp if you wish.

buffalo chicken egg muffin recipe

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb. boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breast)
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • sea salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup Tessemae's Wing Sauce (or use 2 Tbsp. of a clean-ingredient hot sauce* + 2 Tbsp. melted butter or coconut oil)
  • 6 large eggs, whisked
  • 2 Tbsp. green onions/scallions, sliced
  • sea salt & black pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. Tessemae's Wing Sauce (or use 1.5 Tbsp. of a clean-ingredient hot sauce + 1.5 Tbsp. melted butter or coconut oil)

Cooking Steps

1. Preheat the oven to 425.
2. On a baking pan, arrange the chicken thighs and season with garlic, sea salt, and black pepper. Bake for 25 minutes or until cooked through.
3. Place the cooked chicken thighs into a large mixing bowl and shred with two forks. Pour the wing sauce over the chicken and toss to combine and set it aside.
4. In a small mixing bowl, whisk the eggs, wing sauce, green onion, sea salt, and black pepper.
5. Pour the egg mixture into parchment cup lined (these are the only type of liners I recommend as nothing sticks to them, guaranteed!) muffin tins to fill them approximately halfway. Gently spoon about 2oz of the shredded chicken into each muffin cup so that it’s evenly distributed. Serve any extra chicken alongside the cooked muffins.
6. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until the muffins rise and become golden brown around the edges.
